Back Pain
Lower Back Pain

Low back pain is one of the most common health complaints – 80% of people will experience low back pain at some stage in their life.
Those who have suffered with low back pain know that it has a negative impact on just about every aspect of your life. Back pain is a leading contributor to sick leave, it can make sleeping impossible and exercise difficult, it can also make us quick to temper.
In most cases, low back pain is a musculoskeletal issue. Chiropractic care has been shown to be effective for the treatment of the following low back conditions:
- Strains of the muscles
- Sprains of the ligaments
- Disk injuries including herniations
- Nerve pain including sciatica
- Pelvic &/or sacroiliac joint pain
- Referred pain from the hips and other muscles
Lots of people put off getting their back treated for far too long, often thinking it’s just “old age” or in hopes that it will just get better by itself. Other times people rely on pain medications which can be helpful until their effects ware off.
If you’re in pain, your body is telling you something is wrong. When pain is left untreated, acute pain enters the chronic phase which research shows has a negative effect on not only day-today life, but also mental health.
Chiropractors are trained at a University level to assess and diagnose what is causing low back pain. Chiropractic is an effective form of treatment that is natural non-invasive and drug free.
HOW WE CAN HELP
Energise Chiropractic has been servicing the people of Newcastle for over 3 years now. At Energise Chiropractic, our approach is to find out what is causing your pain rather than a quick fix in the area that is symptomatic.
This is done through talking to you and a thorough exam of your spine and muscles. We don’t rush you out the door, we take our time to ensure that we get to the root of the problem
All treatments include a unique combination of deep tissue massage and chiropractic adjustments, providing a more complete form of pain and injury therapy. The results will speak for themselves.

Mid Back Pain
With our sedentary lifestyles and jobs, midback pain is becoming more and more common. Despite this, there is not as much research in this area as low back and neck pain. Mid back pain is often associated with tension and stiffness in between the shoulder blades and can also cause discomfort into the front of the chest.
Common causes of midback pain that chiropractors treat include:
- Poor posture
- Facet joint dysfunction
- Muscular spasm or referral pain (i.e. trigger points and knots)
- Scoliosis (treatment can’t cure scoliosis, but it can provide some pain relief allowing patients to be more active, which is important for general health and well being)
- Rib displacement/dysfunction (if you are suffering with persistent chest pain that cannot be diagnosed through medical testing, chances are that it could be musculoskeletal and able to be treated)
