Joint Pain and Arthritis
Joint Pain

Some people are surprised to learn that chiropractors don’t just treat the spine. We have been trained in a University setting to treat all joints in the human body. Information on some of the most common joint issues that we can treat are provided below.
Elbow
Elbow pain is a very common condition we see here at Energise Chiropractic. This isn’t surprising when you consider how many people are constantly using their devices.
The most common cause of elbow pain is repetitive movements, for example, keeping your elbow bent for too long while looking at your phone. Tasks such as gardening or hammering nails can also cause elbow pain.
Here at Energise Chiropractic we can help with the following elbow conditions:
- Bursitis
- Tricep tendonitis
- Lateral epicondylitis (commonly known as tennis elbow)
- Medial epicondylitis (commonly known as golfers elbow)
Book an appointment today so we can assess your elbow and get to the bottom of the problem.
Depending on the diagnosis, treatment will consist of elbow mobilisations and adjustments as well as muscle release and stretching.
Wrist
Many people who repetitively use their wrists will experience pain in that region at some point in their lives.
Here at Energise Chiropractic, we can help with the following wrist conditions:
- Sprains and strains
- Nerve entrapments/ Carpal Tunnel
- Referred pain from inflamed muscles
- De Quervains Tenosynovitis (the most common wrist injury and usually hurts with movement of the thumb)
Do your wrists ache at the end of a long day at work?
Do you experience pain when doing simple tasks such as using your computer mouse or pouring a cup of tea?
Are you finding that your grip strength is feeling weaker than usual, or that you are experiencing pins and needles into you hand and/or fingers?
If the answer to any of the above is yes, then there could be a Chiropractic solution to this problem.
Book an appointment today for an assessment of your wrist and find out how we can help you. Depending on the diagnosis, treatment will consist of elbow mobilisations and adjustments as well as muscle release and stretching.
Hip
Our hips are so integral in our lives. They bear our weight, they keep us walk and bend and they allow us to sit and relax on the lounge at the end of a long day.
So it is no wonder that hip pain is a common condition that we treat here at Energise Chiropractic. Because we constantly use this joint, pain in this region can be quite debilitating and hard to cope with.
Some of the most common hip problems that walk through our door and we treat are:
- Nerve impingement/sciatica
- Hip impingement/Femoroacetabular Impingement
- Sacroiliac joint/pelvic dysfunction
- Referred pain from the low back and corresponding muscles
- Trauma and sports/overuse injuries
Knee
We are constantly using our knees from the moment we get out of bed until we lie down to go to sleep.
If you are experiencing knee pain it can have a negative effect on every aspect of your life and it’s impossible to function at your best capacity.
Too often, people with knee pain are told to increase their pain medication, live with the pain or to substantially reduce their activity levels. Another option is to start Chiropractic care.
Here at Energise Chiropractic, we can diagnose what the issue is and start to get you on track to a pain free life again.
Common knee conditions we treat here at Energise Chiropractic are:
- Arthritis
- Meniscus injuries
- Ligament injuries
- Iliotibial band syndrome or runners knee
- Tendon injuries
- Referred pain from muscles
If your knee pain is limiting your ability to do all the things you enjoy doing the most, book an appointment today!
Ankle/Foot
Correct foot and ankle function is vitally important to the way we move our bodies.
Proper walking, running, jumping, skipping etc all depend upon our feet and ankles moving in the correct manner.
In other words, the foot and ankle set the rest of out bodies up for motion. So if they aren’t moving right, this could set us up for pain in other regions of our bodies such as the knee, hips or spine.
Here is a list of some of the ankle and foot conditions we treat here at Energise Chiropractic:
- Plantarfascitis
- Sprains and strains of the surrounding muscles and ligaments
- Nerve impingements
- Referred pain from muscles or even the spine
If you have any problems with your foot or ankles, book an appointment today so we can get you moving pain free and at your best capacity.

Arthritis
Arthritis is a very painful condition that affects the smooth movements of bones and joints.
There are many different forms of arthritis and some people are surprised to hear that it isn’t just an issue for the elderly. In rare instances, even some children are diagnosed with arthritis.
Lots of people who have been diagnosed with arthritis rely on pain medication and anti-inflammatories and feel that it’s just something that they will have to put up with for the rest of their lives but there is another option.
Chiropractic care can help by keeping your joints mobile and in so doing, by reducing your pain and keeping you active.
Chiropractic care, while very effective should be used as an additional treatment to the medical management of arthritis.
HOW WE CAN HELP
Chiropractic adjustments and mobilisations help by keeping your joints as mobile as possible, while massage and stretching allows your muscles to be more flexible.
This form of treatment offers pain relief without having to take any medications.
At Energise Chiropractic, our approach is to find out what is causing your pain rather than a quick fix in the area that is symptomatic. This is done through talking to you, taking a comprehensive history and conducting a thorough exam of your spine and muscles.
We don’t rush you out the door, we take our time to ensure that we get to the root of the problem. At Energise Chiropractic we are committed to providing patients with a treatment that is tailored to their needs.
All treatments include a unique combination of deep tissue massage and chiropractic adjustments and we also provide patients with postural advice, stretches and exercises to help aid recovery and get their bodies performing at its optimum capacity. In our experience here at Energise Chiropractic, this treatment combination provides a complete form of pain and injury therapy.
The results will speak for themselves.
